RAVENDREAMING PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS
"ONE CRAZY RAVEN"

Storyteller Gene Tagaban brings to you RavenDreaming. A performance of empowerment, insight, laughter, vision and spirit. Through his flutes, drumming, song, dance and movements. Gene tells traditional Native American stories as well as contemporary stories from his life. Be it trickster stories, his portrayal of his grandmother, or his personal life journey of becoming the Raven Dancer Gene masterfully weaves them all together in a way described by one audience member as A delight and inspiration to the human spirit.

Gene Tagaban is a Native American performing artist, storyteller, trainer, counselor and healer. His heritage is Cherokee, Tlingit and Filipino. Raised in Alaska, Gene's Native American name Gaay Yaaw, loosely translates as Salmon Home Coming. He is of the Tak deintaan Raven Freshwater Sockeye clan of Hoonah, Alaska, and the Child of a Wooshkeetaan Eagle Thunderbird clan of Juneau, Alaska.

Cross Cultural Communication and Diversity

Our attention is always somewhere. Communication is redundant, we are always communicating in one way or another through our pictures, what we hear, our feelings about ourselves or others. I once heard a native elder say ~ You talk to a tree like a tree... not like a bear or a deer but like a tree. ~ We will take a look at different levels of communication through our environment, behaviors/capabilities, beliefs/values, identity and spirit. How do you communicate? Is it working? Lets explore.
